and Higher Incomes:
Joe has the private sector experience to help keep and produce quality jobs for
working families and farms. During his time in the State Senate, Joe has a
record of helping local businesses maintain jobs and (re)train their workforce
for the new economy. Joe was the co-author of The Job Creation Act, touted as
one of the most pro-job legislative initiatives to pass out of the State Capitol
in over 30 years. |

Reducing Taxes: Joe has a proven record of delivering tax relief and controlling spending.
During his time in the State Senate, Joe eliminated the tax
on Social Security, eliminated the annual automatic increase of the gas tax,
reduced the gas tax by a penny, removed the tax on jobs and succeeded in placing
a cap on spending to keep your property taxes down. |

Making Health Care More Affordable and Accessible: Joe
has a proven legislative record of working to improve and increase access to
health care. During his time in the State Senate, Joe served as the lead author of legislation to provide Health
Savings Accounts to Wisconsin's citizens, the lead author of legislation to
expand access to health care through the creation of Cooperative Care, and was
successful in passing legislation to allow Wisconsin's citizens to deduct 100 percent of their health
insurance premiums. In addition, Joe has been recognized for his
successful efforts to improve Medical Assistance programs like SeniorCare and
his successful efforts to increase funding for area nursing homes. |

and Salmon Stamp Funds. |

Senior Citizens: Joe wants to lower the tax burden on our seniors and ensure affordable prescription drug coverage.
Joe worked during the last budget to fully fund SeniorCare while eliminating the
tax on Social Security. |
